About Field + Form
Field + Form is an independent civic strategy and sustainability practice located on California’s Central Coast.
The practice works in the space between policy, people, and place, helping communities, organizations, and leaders navigate complex challenges through strategic consulting, systems mapping, community visioning, and civic engagement grounded in regenerative economics and relational practice.
At the center of the work is a simple conviction: meaningful change becomes possible when we can see the systems we are part of, understand the relationships within them, and recognize the capacity that already exists.
Daniela Hinman
Daniela Hinman is a civic designer and sustainability strategist whose practice brings regenerative economics, community resilience, and democratic renewal into the design of places, organizations, and civic life. Working in the space between policy, people, and place, she helps communities navigate complex challenges, build regenerative capacity, and move from vision to implementation.
She is the founder of Field + Form, a civic strategy and sustainability consulting practice on California’s Central Coast. Field + Form works with communities, organizations, and leaders on complex challenges through strategic consulting, systems mapping, community visioning, implementation strategy, and civic engagement processes grounded in regenerative economics and relational practice.
Daniela serves as a Regional Practitioner with the California Doughnut Economics Coalition (CalDEC), supporting the application of Doughnut Economics frameworks across the Central Coast. She is also an active member of the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) global practitioner community.
Her academic background includes studies in rural and environmental policy, sustainability, and Indigenous studies at Oregon State University’s School of Public Policy, alongside experience in community organizing, Indigenous advocacy, policy research, and creative facilitation. These experiences inform her systems-oriented approach to civic strategy, sustainability, and community development.
Current Practice
Daniela currently serves as a Regional Practitioner for the California Doughnut Economics Coalition (CalDEC) and is an active member of the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) global practitioner community.
Through Field + Form, she is developing place-based civic strategy and civic resilience initiatives that connect regenerative economics, community capacity, systems thinking, and collaborative action.
She welcomes strategic consulting engagements and collaborative partnerships with consulting firms, organizations, and practitioners working on complex civic and sustainability challenges.
The work continues to evolve through research, writing, mapping, conversation, and practice in the field.
